Despite at least 25 firefighters responding, the home couldn’t be saved.
The owners of the charity, Lincoln Park Horse and Rehabilitation, have been left devastated.
Their property is home to dozens of once neglected, abused and unwanted animals, all of whom were lucky to escape the flames.
Sonya and Lincoln Little were picking up their son at Adelaide airport when they got a phone call from someone, telling them their home was lost.
They have been working for more than a decade to save unwanted and abused animals, and all of their personal belongings are now turned to ash.
“All my memories, all my photos, pretty much just everything,” Sonya told 7NEWS.
“It’s everything to me, I’ve devoted my whole life to this place”.
Spanning across 140 acres, their Monarto property is the temporary refuge for dozens of unwanted horses, donkeys, alpacas, pigs and chickens.
Many have come from broken homes, but Lincoln Park Rehabilitation Centre looks after them and finds them a loving family.
“Whether it be neglected or abandoned, they’ve fallen on hard times themselves, we help bring them back to health, bring them back to life,” Sonya said.

Lincoln and Sonya and their children will move into a caravan while they get back on their feet.
“Pretty gut-wrenching, to build what we’ve built here and for it all to go up in smoke as you say, it’s going to be tough to come back from,” Lincoln said.
The estimated damage is $300,000.
