A mum accused of murdering her toddler by allegedly stabbing her to death has been rushed to hospital after an incident in a Brisbane jail.
Lauren Ingrid Flanigan, 32, was arrested in the front yard of her Bundaberg home on Monday, in Central Queensland, where her daughter Sophia Rose was found in a critical condition with “multiple wounds” on her body, according to Queensland Police.
Neighbours had called emergency services after they spotted the unresponsive child who died at the scene on Regency Rd at Moore Park Beach about 4.45pm on Monday.

Queensland’s Corrective Services have now confirmed that officers responded to a medical emergency involving a 32-year-old woman at Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre.
Paramedics were called and transported the woman to the hospital.
“Support is being offered to the responding officers and their colleagues,” corrective services said in a statement.
The woman was being held in custody until her next court appearance in July after being charged with murder on Monday.
She had not yet entered a plea.
Acting Superintendent Brad Inskip said at the time that mental health and any prior interactions with police would likely form part of the investigation into the incident.

A knife was seized from the Bundaberg property, which Inskip described as a “horrific” scene.
“It’s a terrible, terrible incident for everybody,” he said on Tuesday.
Sophia’s father, Jai Ruane, was not at home at the time of the incident. It’s understood the 39-year old is a FIFO worker at a coal mine.
He has now returned home and is caring for his other two children.
Police described him as “no doubt absolutely devastated”.
Ruane opened up about his “bubbly” daughter Sophia, telling 9News “she was the light of (my) life”.
“She was always smiling, always wanting to help, just so full of life and love. She just had such a huge heart,” Ruane said.
