An off-duty nurse has told how she tried desperately to save the life of an e-scooter rider killed in a late-night crash with a truck.
A 31-year-old male rider died at the scene from injuries suffered in the collision with a white Volvo truck about 10.40pm on Wednesday.

An aged care nurse was driving home when she came upon the emergency and jumped into action.
“I came out of my car to save his life, but then I saw him, he was badly injured,” she told The West Australian.
“I am so sad for him and his family.
“I was literally crying last night ... I couldn’t save that man.”
The truck driver, a 26-year-old man, was not hurt and is assisting police.
The intersection on Stirling Hwy is part of a busy freight route into and out of Fremantle Port.
The adjacent Stirling Bridge is used by more than 5000 trucks and 30,000 cars every day.
