The Ford Ranger ute and its Everest SUV sibling are being updated for 2027, with changes for the Ranger including wider availability of the single-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine and the return of the Wildtrak X special edition.

The Ranger, Australia’s top-selling vehicle for the last three years, was updated with official 2026.5 model-year (MY26.5) changes that arrived in dealerships from May 2026, but pricing listed by RedBook has revealed changes for the MY27 lineup.

Ford Australia hasn't confirmed the changes or local arrival timing for the 2027 versions of either model, which are listed by RedBook for a September 2026 release.

For the Ranger, the 125kW/405Nm 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel four-cylinder will expand to additional variants after the 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo diesel four-cylinder was axed as part of the 2026.5 update.

The Ranger Tremor doesn't feature among the MY27 vehicles listed on RedBook, nor does the limited-edition Wolftrak.

Two Ranger variants will be newly available with the single-turbo diesel, including the XLT dual-cab pickup, priced from $61,490 before on-road costs.

That makes it $6500 cheaper than the V6-powered XLT, with both using a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, and $2400 less than the MY26 XLT dual-cab pickup equipped with the Bi-Turbo four.

The Wildtrak dual-cab pickup will also be available with the four-cylinder engine for 2027, priced from $68,590 before on-road costs – again $6500 less than the V6 version, though only $1300 less than the MY26 Wildtrak with the Bi-Turbo four.

The Wildtrak X will also return for 2027, having last appeared in the 2025.25 Ranger lineup.

For the first time, the Wildtrak X will be offered with the V6 diesel engine and will be priced from $77,990 before on-road costs, $2900 more than the regular Wildtrak V6.

Ford Australia has not yet released specifications for the new Wildtrak X.

Previous versions of the Wildtrak X sold in Australia sat above the regular Wildtrak and featured a wider track, increased ground clearance, Bilstein dampers and all-terrain tyres.

News of the updates comes after Ford Australia announced almost 14,000 dual-cab Rangers would be recalled due to an airbag issue, with around 7000 vehicles held by dealers blocked from sale as a result.

Ford said it doesn't expect parts required to rectify the issue to become available until mid-September 2026.

The Everest range remains largely unchanged for 2027, apart from a lower price for the flagship Platinum V6.

It's now listed at $82,917 before on-road costs, a reduction of $573 compared with the current 2026.5 version.

The 2026.5 update introduced the 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel to the Everest lineup, producing the same 125kW and 405Nm as it does in the Ranger.

It remains available in the entry-level Everest Active, priced from $58,990 before on-road costs, as well as the Everest Sport, priced from $68,990 before on-road costs.
