Radio star Kyle Sandilands has broken down while responding to explosive allegations from former co-host Jackie “O” Henderson.

The allegations have emerged in documents filed by ARN in Henderson’s Federal Court battle against the broadcaster.

The documents quote extracts from Henderson’s sworn affidavit and reports from medical professionals concerning the alleged psychological impact of Sandilands’ workplace behaviour.

Speaking on his online show Kyle Sandilands Live on Wednesday morning, Sandilands said he was devastated by the claims.

“Jackie’s claimed that I’ve caused her to suffer PTSD, and I just fell apart this morning. Crying in the shower like a f****** big sook,” he said.

“That is so against what the reality of what happened was. It’s soul-destroying. It really is. It’s very upsetting to me.”

Sandilands is not a party to Henderson’s lawsuit against ARN.

Explosive allegations revealed

The fresh court documents quote an affidavit in which Henderson claimed the dynamic between the longtime co-hosts began changing in 2023.

“In or around 2023, I noticed a shift in the way Mr Sandilands spoke to me and treated me on air,” she said.

“What had previously felt like humour or banter started, at times, to feel different. The comments and putdowns became more pointed and less like they were said in fun and more like they were intended to belittle or humiliate me, and this became more difficult to tolerate over time.”

Henderson also claimed the behaviour of Sandilands and his manager, Bruno Bouchet, left her feeling anxious about going to work.

“I often drove to work with a low-level sense of anxiety and dread, which caused me to feel worn down over time.

“The cumulative effect was that I felt emotionally unsafe in the workplace, even during periods where the relationship appeared outwardly positive.”

Henderson claimed that between May and July 2025 she felt Sandilands’ treatment was “slowly wearing me down”.

“I felt exhausted and like I wanted to give up. I felt like this treatment was happening in subtle ways but regularly. It felt like bullying,” she said.

ARN’s proposed amended cross-claim cites a report from psychiatrist Dr Jonathan Phillips stating Henderson was suffering from PTSD arising as a result of “the ongoing bullying perpetrated by Sandilands”, “the failure of ARN to offer appropriate care and protection” and “the publishing of the Statement through the Australian Stock Exchange”.

The allegations and medical conclusions have not been tested or determined by the court.

Legal battle continues

The Kyle And Jackie O Show ended earlier this year following an on-air argument over Henderson’s interest in astrology.

The fallout brought the pair’s almost three-decade radio partnership to an abrupt end and resulted in ARN terminating their respective contracts just over two years into a reported $200 million, 10-year deal.

Henderson is seeking at least $82.25 million in her Federal Court action against ARN and its subsidiary, Commonwealth Broadcasting Corporation.

ARN denies it is responsible for Henderson’s alleged psychological harm. In its proposed amended cross-claim, the broadcaster argues Henderson Media was contractually responsible for her health and safety while she provided services under the agreement.

Sandilands also launched legal action over the termination of his contract but settled the dispute before trial.

The matter involving Henderson remains before the Federal Court.
