Seven teenagers charged with murder after a man was fatally assaulted and had his car stolen will remain behind bars.

Charges against the teens, including two girls aged 14 and 15, were upgraded after the 27-year-old man died following the alleged assault in Brisbane’s inner-north.

They face life sentences under controversial “adult crime, adult time” laws introduced by Queensland’s Liberal National government.

The man was taken to hospital and died almost a fortnight later on August 6.

A total of nine children — six boys and three girls — were initially charged with a number of offences over the attack.
