Three teenage boys from a prominent private school have been charged over the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.

Police allege the girl was sexually assaulted by three teenage boys from the prestigious Scots College in an alleyway in Sydney’s eastern suburbs on the evening of July 22.

The boys — two aged 14 and one aged 13 — were arrested on Thursday after police executed search warrants at several homes in the eastern suburbs.

During the searches, police seized a number of electronic devices, as well as two replica firearms, a Glock-style BB gun, three laser pointers and a number plate believed to have been stolen from one of the homes.

The items will undergo forensic examination.

The 13-year-old and one of the 14-year-olds were each charged with aggravated sexual assault in company and two counts of aggravated sexual touching.

The other 14-year-old was charged with aggravated sexual assault in company and aggravated sexual touching.

All three were granted strict conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on August 25.

The Scots College confirmed it was aware of the matter involving three of its students following the release of the police statement.

“The College takes this matter seriously and has cooperated, and will continue to cooperate, with police as required,” the school said in a statement.

“We believe it is important that the police investigation is allowed to take its course and it would not be appropriate for the College to comment further on the matter.”

The Scots College is one of Sydney’s most expensive private schools, with annual tuition fees for senior students exceeding $50,000.

The school made headlines last year after a 17-year-old student revealed he had allegedly been ambushed and humiliated by fellow students in December.

Footage of the alleged incident showed the teenager walking through a human tunnel while being verbally and physically abused before having beer poured over him.

“One kid even told me I had to go or I’d be kicked out of a program that I was part of, but that inclusion was a trap,” the teenager told 2GB at the time. 

“I was ambushed, physically restrained, and humiliated.

“The most terrifying part was how I was lured there, thinking I was going to have some fun and finally have some friends at school.”

He said the bullying extended beyond the school grounds, claiming he had also received “awful messages online that made me feel alone and attacked”.
