A 13‑year‑old boy has died in hospital after suffering critical injuries in an e‑scooter crash in Queensland’s Bundaberg region.
Emergency crews were called to Macrossan St at Childers shortly after 6pm on Wednesday following reports of a single‑vehicle crash involving an e‑scooter.

Police allege the boy sustained serious head injuries as a result of the crash.
The teenager was airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
A 13-year-old boy has died from head injuries after a e-scooter crash in Queensland Credit: 7NEWSOn Thursday Bundaberg Highway Patrol officer Sergeant Gordan Hard confirmed that CPR was performed on the boy before he was flown to Brisbane in “critical condition”
“To the best of my knowledge, he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash,” he told 7NEWS.
“Police are trying to get these e-scooters and e-bikes off the road, anything that’s travelling, 70km, 80km up to 100km is dangerous.”
The 13-year-old sadly succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, with his family by his bedside.
Investigations into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
“If your child has one of these high-powered bikes or e-scooters, you need to seriously consider taking it off them,” Hard said.
