A woman has been charged after allegedly forcing a man to walk to a park before assaulting him and two others with a baseball bat.

Police allege the incident began in Raymond Terrace , in the NSW Hunter region, shortly after 8.30pm on August 2 when the man was found on the woman’s property.

The woman and another man allegedly detained the man and forced him to walk to nearby Boomerang Park.

Police allege the woman assaulted the man with a baseball bat before also attacking two other men.

She is further accused of smashing the windscreen of a vehicle with the baseball bat.

Emergency services were called to the park, where paramedics treated a 44-year-old man for facial injuries, bruising and swelling before taking him to Maitland Hospital.

Police established a crime scene and launched an investigation.

The 52-year-old woman was arrested at Raymond Terrace Police Station about 5.25pm on Monday, while the 56-year-old man was taken into custody at the same station about 9.15am on Thursday.

The woman was charged with assault, kidnapping and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence.

She was refused bail and will face Newcastle Local Court on September 30.

The man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company and kidnapping with intent to commit a serious indictable offence occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was initially refused bail before being granted strict conditional bail by the Bail Division Court.

He is also due to appear before Newcastle Local Court on September 30.

Police established a crime scene and inquiries are continuing.
