Residents in a neighbourhood north of Brisbane have been warned to stay indoors as police respond to reports of an armed person inside a home.

Queensland Police made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) about 12.07pm on Saturday, establishing an exclusion zone in Kallangur.

Residents within the exclusion zone, which covers Alma St, Ann St, Marsden St and Thompson St, have been told to stay indoors, while others have been urged to avoid the area.

No injuries have been reported yet, police said.
