The updated Lexus RZ has yet to make to Australian showrooms, but there’s a new a outlandishly-styled flagship model in Japan: the RZ600e F Sport Performance.

Based on the RZ550e, the RZ600e F Sport Performance has a total system output of 313kW. According to Lexus the 13kW bump up from RZ550e is thanks purely to “reassessing battery output limits”.

Despite the extra power, the 0-100km/h time is unchanged at 4.4 seconds. Both front and rear motors are rated at 167kW and 268Nm.

The 77kWh battery pack is unchanged, and is said to have a range of 525km under the CLTC standard. CLTC is notably more generous than the WLTP figures typically quoted here and in Europe. According to WLTP, this battery pack is said to yield 450km of driving on a full charge in the less powerful RZ550e.

The RZ600e is easy to pick out from its lesser siblings thanks to its noticeable carbon-fibre aero kit, which features a prominent front splitter, rear diffuser, and two tailgate-mounted spoilers.

There are also carbon-fibre turning vanes leading out from the trailing edge of the front and rear wheel arches, which feature crisper detailing, a body colour finish, and seem to be wider than the glossy black units to fitted to other RZ variants.

Other carbon-fibre elements include the roof, the styling element below the headlights, and bonnet vents.

The car rides on 21-inch black Enkei alloy wheels shod with 255/40 Yokohama Advan Sport tyres up front, and chunkier 295/35 rubber at the rear. Hidden behind the new wheels are larger 20-inch discs with blue calipers, with the front units being a six piston aluminum monoblock design.

Two paint options are available: Black with Hakugin II matte white, or black with Neutrino Grey. The former features some electric blue highlights.

Blue accents are present in the interior, which also features a yoke-style wheel for the drive-by-wire steering system, and Ultrasuede-trimmed front sports seats made with an “integrated foam moulding process”.

Described as a “special edition”, the RZ600e F Sport Performance is available in Japan with prices starting from ¥‎12,165,000 (A$116,000).

It’s not known if the RZ600e will be available outside of Japan. The variant it’s based on, the RZ550e, as well as the less powerful RZ500e, have both been confirmed for Australia.
