Four Australians locked up in Kerobokan Prison in Bali have missed out on a chance to have their sentences reduced after being caught with mobile phones.

Queenslander Lamar Ahchee, who was sentenced over a cocaine smuggling plot, and the “Bali 3” convicted over the 2025 shooting murder of a Melbourne father, violated prison rules because they had the devices in their cells.

Ahchee, along with Darcy Francesco Jenson, Paea-I-Middlemore Tupou and Mevlut Coskun were also punished with 12 days in solitary confinement and banned from receiving deliveries.

They had each been set to receive a one-month reduction in their sentences as part of an initiative linked to Indonesia’s Independence Day.

But those reductions were cancelled.

Achee was sentenced to 12 years in prison in December.

His fellow Australians had their prison terms over the shooting death of Zivan Radmanovic in a Bali villa extended by an appeal judge in April.

Jenson is facing 17 years behind bars for planning the murder, while gunmen Tupou and Coskun will spend 18 years.

This year, more than 1000 prisoners received Independence Day cuts to their sentences, ranging from one to six months.

Forty-five prisoners were immediately released from jail.

Authorities said they only grant remissions to inmates who demonstrate good behaviour.
