Urzeugung (“Grand Procreation”) by Bô Yin Râ

The Three Sages Substack continues its presentation of works by the Luminary Bô Yin Râ in cooperation with Books to Light, publisher and copyright holder of the complete English translation of the Luminary’s masterwork: the 32-volume German-language compendium of Bô Yin Râ’s spiritual guidance under the general title of Hortus Conclusus (“The Enclosed Garden”).

We turn now to a new series of postings by Bô Yin Râ on the supremely important topic of love. In a world that is seemingly being devoured daily by rising tides of hatred and violence, could there be a more important topic? Today’s posting is a chapter entitled “On the Power of Love” from the book High Goal, which is the 19th volume of Hortus Conclusus. Subsequently, we shall be posting all of Bô Yin Râ’s The Book on Love in sequential chapters. This will be a major project by Three Sages and Books to Light that will be unfolding in the weeks and months ahead. Bô Yin Râ is the spiritual name of Joseph Anton Schneiderfranken, who was born in Aschaffenburg, Germany, in 1876 and who passed away in Lugano, Switzerland, in 1943. In his explanations of spiritual realities and the inner path to realization, Bô Yin Râ openly identified himself as part of the same society of Leuchtenden des Urlichts (“Luminaries of the First Light”) to which Jesus Christ himself belonged.

The Luminaries consist of those human individuals with ultimate responsibility for the spiritual destiny of all humanity on planet Earth. Their terrestrial headquarters are located in the heart of Asia, and they have been providing their guidance for millennia. The existence of the Luminaries is hinted at in the Bible by references to the Order of Melchizedek of which Jesus was a priest (Hebrews 7:1-28).

It is extremely rare for a Luminary to work openly and in public as Jesus and Bô Yin Râ have done. Bô Yin Râ wrote that the work of the Luminaries is still at an early stage. This idea is supported by the realization that in both cultural and ethical terms humanity is not far removed from a primitive state of savage barbarism. Events in the world today show this clearly. At the same time, humanity’s spiritual hunger is shown by the proliferation of sects and cults trying to show the way, along with the course of the historic religions.

At present the number of people with spiritual hunger is substantial. During Bô Yin Râ’s lifetime over a million people in the German-speaking world read his books until they were banned by the Third Reich. More and more people are reading the books in German today, and they are also being widely translated and read in other languages, including English. Bô Yin Râ predicted that a time would come when everyone on Earth who was seeking the spiritual life would read and study his works. We at Three Sages are trying to do our own small part in making them better known and more available in the U.S. and among other English-speaking people.

One of the key facts about Bô Yin Râ’s teachings is that he clearly expressed the necessity of answering the fundamental question: What is a human being? If we are honest, we must face the fact that we really don’t know the answer to that question. Not that there is a shortage of those attempting to provide an answer, many of these being quite fantastic. Rather the problem is often that the answers are incomplete, mutually contradictory, or self-serving. In the absence of a satisfactory answer, we lack the inner assurance and self-confidence needed to resist the negative forces that would enslave and exploit us during our sojourn on earth. On the other hand, true self-knowledge as defined by Bô Yin Râ, and previously by Jesus, has the potential to assist us in becoming truly joyful and free, both in this world and in the world we all must enter at death. How to accomplish this? Bô Yin Râ’s teachings constitute what is always most rare: authentic guidance.

Bô Yin Râ’s Hortus Conclusus is a comprehensive body of work but is broken down into 32 separate books, each of which approaches spirituality from a different though complementary angle. But the core is the trilogy consisting of 1) The Book on the Living God; 2) The Book on the Beyond; and 3) The Book on Man. Truly, man’s power is boundless if he lives in love!

Truly, love is earthly man’s highest power! –

Truly, lofty powers have been praised as man’s supreme value and many have dreamt of the supreme majesty of man on high pedestals. Yet far higher than earthly man can even imagine was the glory prepared for him; further than his boldest thoughts could espy was power given to him! – – –

The heavens cannot comprehend what the powers of love’s fire can bring about in the hearts of men born on Earth; all the depths of the abyss cannot be plumbed for where the blessing lies rooted which makes animal men into divinely transfigured men of the spirit! – – –

Suns go under in cosmic tides and pull worlds down with them into the abyss of unfathomable decay, but man’s might remains his for all eternity, even though the ground on which he temporarily builds his huts shakes and bursts under his feet! –

He who once fell from the exalted light nevertheless carries the power within him to raise himself high above all the stars!

You ask what has bestowed such exalted might on those once fallen ones?

You ask what raises them above all the invisible princes of cosmic creation?!

Know this: words of language cannot express an ultimate answer to this question; it is left to deepest intuition alone to feel what can be felt but scarcely comprehended! – –

How could human tongue ever proclaim what remains above all human thought?!

Eternally concealed, even from those stupendous stellar powers being but pure ‘thinking’ in their essence – so sublimely transcending all earthly thinking, – those invisible ‘gods’ of this realm of visibility –, is what only the inner being of the human soul can experience within itself in deepest contemplation. – –

Human power grounded in love rises up higher than the stupendous almighty power of these stellar gods within the cosmic world!

It has been said:

“God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God and God in him!”

But ‘love’ became for you too closely related to desire; it became the fond feeling of desire-filled emotions. Instead of living in ‘God’, you have erected unto yourselves the idol before which you kneel and which truly cannot help you.

Those clever ones, from whom this trickery could not be hidden, turned away from it; now they are called ‘deniers of God’ by you, since they boldly question and deny the ‘divinity’ of your idol!…

But I say to you that many who turned in this way from idols and gods may be closer to the Godhead than those who revile them! – – –

I say to you that many of those you call deniers of God are truly secure within God and experience God in love, though they do not speak like you and may themselves not know that they are in Love and that God reveals himself in them! – – –

For: “God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship the truth in the spirit!”

The man who does not resolve to seek the spirit within himself will not find God in eternity!

But the spirit, which is God and which is Love, must of course not be put on an equal footing with the ‘spirit’ of thought, propagated by thinking inside the brains of those born of dust!

Truly we speak here of another spirit; he who does not feel it in Love will remain Godless, however much he talks about God! – –

Only in the spiritual form of Love can earthly man reach God and thereby the spirit from which he emanated through the Word of Life which utters itself in Godhead from eternity to eternity! –

Before this all his chanting of psalms about ‘God’ and ‘Godly things’ is but foolish chatter; all his ‘praying’ will be in vain unless rooted in this love! –

He who once taught you to ‘pray’ in the way you should pray, and not, like those far from God, to ‘blather’, wanted to see you in this Love!

His whole life was indeed the teaching of this Love!

How can you understand him as long as you still hesitate to dissolve yourself in the same fire of Love and to submit yourself to it so that you may regain yourself in this Love?!

This Love of which I bear witness here can never be completely attained if you still need an object of love which you must seek outside yourself!

You must become the object of this Love yourself until finally you lose yourself in it. Thus you will become Love yourself, no longer needing an object, since all that ever came about or can come about is held within it! – – – –

If wise counsel recommends you: even to renounce your soul, understand from this only that you must not make even your soul into the object of your love, if you would experience within yourself the Love, as which God reveals himself within you!

If you wish to make yours through love something other than what seeks comprehension by itself within your deepest ‘I’, then you still ‘love’ in a narrow earthly way and remain just as far from that essential Love which is a spiritual form of the Godhead!

But you shall find love, which is God, in yourself; you shall be within love so that God is within you, and you in God! – – –

Still you ‘are’ not; for what you call your ‘existence’ is not true being, conscious of itself!

What you call your ‘existence’ is likewise only in a metaphorical sense to be called ‘being’, just as what you see as ‘love’ can only be called: love in a metaphorical sense! –

What you call your ‘existence’ is conditioned a thousand times, just like all love which binds itself to the object of love continually remains determined by externals, however high you raise it up before you! –

I must guide you beyond, upwards and above all this, if I am to lead you to that Love, within which your God can be born to you, and you can be born in him…

Only he can rise upwards who ‘rises’ within himself and resists all that is base, which seeks to chain him to his debasement!

Truly it is already an uprising against all that is base when you seek an ‘object’ of love, for intuitively you feel that you must oppose the base, if you would overcome it!

But as long as you seek the ‘object’ of your love outside, you can never establish yourself within yourself. Therefore become for yourself the ‘object’ of your love for the time being! –

Once you have in this way established yourself within yourself, it may become easier for you to give up this last support and to ‘rise up’ against yourself, until you arrive at the place where there is neither high nor low, as every spatial comparison is extinguished, since the incomparable forms itself into occurrence! –

Behold: The heavens cannot comprehend what is reserved for the man who will not relinquish his birthright!

Indeed, all will in time, after aeons, attain ‘blessedness’.

Yet that ‘blessedness’ attainable by all is in no measure comparable to that high goal which you can reach when you seek to raise yourself in the Earth-bound form of your appearance, when you release yourself from the fetters of the mighty of the cosmos which can hold you bound for millennia and aeons!

To this it has been said that no one can find liberation until he ‘has paid the last penny’! – – –

But today you still have the opportunity to escape these fetters!

Today you can still truly become the master of your fate.

Those of your brothers on Earth who have long since achieved this know of no greater happiness than to help you…
