Heading into summer, the search for the most sun-safe swimwear looms over everyone’s heads — particularly for our youngest folk.
And with the Aussie heat predicted to climb to record heights in 2026, parents have begun the search for swimmers that their little ones will reach for all on their own, whilst still ticking the kids’ must have boxes.
This is where award-winning, Australian mum-owned children’s swimwear and kidswear brand, Tic Tas Togs, has discovered a gap in the market.

Now launching their latest line in collaboration with Aboriginal Artist Jesse Sutton, Tic Tas Togs is transforming their award winning range to a different venture.

Starting her business after moving to Tasmania and falling back in love with the great outdoors, she had a couple of realisations.
The first was getting caught out by the sun — even with Tasmania’s cooler summer days, UV levels can be extreme and tender skin will burn in 10 minutes without sun protection.
The second was noticing that being out of the mainstream meant only the biggest kids’ swimwear brands made their way down to Tasmania.
This is where she found her passion, creating age appropriate swimwear styles for our little ones, along with added sun protection for year round use.
Be the first to know:
“I’ve always wanted to challenge the idea that sun-safe swimwear needs to be plain, pastel or predictable,” Justine told 7You.
“Our designs combine UPF 50+ protection, generous coverage and vibrant colours, including high-visibility combinations that help children stand out around the water.”
All the swimmers have been designed with zips to make quick changes possible, wet or dry.
Vivid, fade-resistant, original designs put the fun into functional, with no bare backs or shoulders.
The check list was simple, yet it hadn’t been done it a way that still allowed kids to feel stylish and comfortable whilst keeping them protected from the harsh Aussie rays.

Each piece transforms meaningful artwork into something families can wear, cherish and take on many adventures for years to come.
With over 20 products on offer for parents to choose from, their hero products include full-length sunsuits, rash vests, swim sets, boardshorts and sun hats.
“The Indigenous Collection has become one of the most meaningful chapters of our brand story. I discovered the artwork of emerging Indigenous artist Jesse Sutton when he was just 17, and immediately saw an opportunity to bring his creativity to a new audience,” Justine said.
“Together, we developed a collection that brings his original Indigenous artwork to life across children’s swimwear and accessories, pairing powerful visual storytelling with bold, high-visibility colours.”
It’s a collection that has been made to challenge the idea that sun-safe swimwear needs to be plain, pastel and almost predictable.

And with that mindset Justine has catapulted her brand into an award-winning category lead for families around the nation.
“For me, this collaboration is about more than creating beautiful products. It’s about celebrating First Nations creativity, giving an emerging artist a platform, and helping families connect with Australian culture in an everyday, tangible way,” Justine said.
“The collection has resonated strongly with customers and was recognised as a finalist for Collaboration of the Year at the SHE-com e-commerce awards.”
It’s about creating products that allow everyone to feel comfortable and safe year round.
