A man has died in a freak workplace accident in northwest Sydney.

The 49-year-old was killed after heavy glass panes fell on him at a home on Valencia St, Dural, about 11.30am on Monday.

Paramedics and specialist police raced to the home to try to free the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were told the man was delivering the glass panes when “a number of sheets collapsed” on top of him.

Worksafe NSW has been notified about the incident and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers as police launch an investigation into the death.
