A young woman thought there was a possibility she could share a David and Victoria Beckham-style future with UK entertainer Yung Filly before he allegedly sexually assaulted her in his hotel room, an Australian court has been told.

The 30-year-old rapper, who real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is fighting claims he slapped, bit and raped the 20-year-old fan following a show at Bar1 in Hillarys, Perth, in September 2024.

On day two of the trial on Tuesday, the alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was shown videos taken from inside Bar1 on the night of Barrientos’ show.

The complainant agreed that in the clips filmed by her cousin she could be heard saying “I got touched by Yung Filly in a good way”, “I love Yung Filly” and “I’m gonna marry him”.

The 20-year-old told the court that these comments were made after the accused put his hands down her pants and touched her breasts.

“At the time he was my idol,” she said.

“I was naive.”

Barrientos’ defence maintains he never touched the woman in the nightclub.

The woman admitted that she thought herself and the entertainer had the possibility of a future together like that shared by former soccer star David Beckham and his wife, fashion designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham.

The woman told the court she thought the rapper had invited her to an after-party, before they ended up back in his room at the Intercontinental Hotel.

She said the pair engaged in consensual sex until Barrientos allegedly became violent.

The prosecution alleges he bit her neck and breast, restricted her breathing, told her to stop talking and slapping her without warning, leaving her with bruising and an open wound.

Yung Filly’s defence team called the allegations “a pack of lies”. 

Through tears, the woman told the jury: “I am telling the truth.”

Barrientos has pleaded not guilty to six counts of rape, three counts of assault and one count of impeding a person’s breathing.

The trial continues.
