“Our destiny is written by the hand of Providence, and these first 250 years have been just the beginning,” Trump declared in his State of the Union address. This is not empty rhetoric, but rather the historical vision – typical of the US establishment – that places the United States of America in the role of world leader. Trump expressed this vision in his highly acclaimed speech to Congress: “When God needs a nation to perform his miracles, he knows exactly who to turn to.”
“Two hundred and fifty years is a long time in the life of a nation, but in another sense it is only a moment in history. Americans built this nation from 13 humble colonies to the pinnacle of human civilisation and human freedom, the strongest, richest, most powerful and most successful nation in all of history.
We have blazed trails through wild and unforgiving nature, colonised a boundless frontier, and tamed the beautiful but very, very dangerous Wild West. From deserted swamps and endless plains, we have built the greatest cities in the world. We have conquered the world’s most powerful industries, destroyed the monstrous tyrannies of history, and freed millions of people from the chains of fascism, communism, oppression, and terror.
Americans carried humanity into the skies on wings of aluminium and steel. And then we launched humanity towards the stars on rockets fuelled by pure American will and unyielding American pride. We have connected the globe with our ingenuity, we have captivated the planet with American culture, and now we are paving the way for the next great American innovations that will change the entire world.
All this and much more is the lasting legacy, the unparalleled glory of the hard-working patriots who built and defended this country and who still today carry on their shoulders the hopes and freedoms of all humanity. For years they were forgotten, betrayed and cast aside, but that great betrayal is over, and they will never be forgotten again, because when the world needs courage, bold vision and inspiration, it continues to look to America.
When God needs a nation to perform His miracles, He knows exactly where to turn. There is no challenge that Americans cannot overcome, no frontier too vast to conquer, no dream too bold to pursue, no horizon too distant to reach. Our destiny is written by the hand of Providence, and these first 250 years have been only the beginning”.
This is an immense historical falsification that falls apart when confronted with the real facts (see the book L’Altra Faccia della Storia, published by Byoblu).
“Now our NATO friends and allies are paying 5 per cent instead of paying nothing.”
With regard to the current international situation, Trump boasts of having forced NATO allies to increase their military spending:
“NATO countries, our friends and allies, have just agreed, at my strong request, to allocate 5% of their GDP to military defence instead of 2%, which they were not actually paying: we were paying almost everything. Now they pay 5% instead of paying nothing. And achieving that 5% was something that everyone said would never be possible.”
According to official documentation published by NATO at the end of August 2025, Italian military spending in 2025 amounts to over €45 billion (€45,315 million): an average of over €124 million per day. This expenditure will not be enough because, following a decision by the Trump Administration, Italy will take over the Joint Command in Naples and the United Kingdom will do the same with the Joint Command in Norfolk, both currently led by the United States. Germany and Poland will share the leadership of the Joint Command in Brunssum on a rotating basis.
“We are working very hard to put an end to the massacres between Russia and Ukraine.”
In his State of the Union address, Trump also presented himself as the Great Peacemaker.
“Without my intervention, there would have been a nuclear war between Pakistan and India, and 35 million people would have died”.
He also mentioned Kosovo and Serbia, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Congo and Rwanda, and, of course, the low-level war in Gaza.
“We are working very hard to end the ninth war: the killings and massacres between Russia and Ukraine, where 25,000 soldiers die every month.”
The Trump Administration’s commitment to ending the war, which is not only between Ukraine and Russia but also between NATO and Russia, is demonstrated by the fact that, starting in 2026, the United States will begin deploying ground-launched long-range missile systems in Germany with the aim of strengthening “NATO deterrence”. These systems, which also have nuclear capabilities, will include Tomahawk cruise missiles, Standard Missile-6 and Dark Eagle hypersonic weapons. At the same time, Paris and London are actively working to supply Kyiv with a nuclear bomb: probably the small French TN-75 nuclear warhead, with a yield of 150 kt, equivalent to 10 Hiroshima bombs.
“The Iranian regime has spread nothing but terrorism, death and hatred.”
At the same time, the Trump Administration has been preparing for war against Iran. The aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford and its battle group, coming from the Caribbean where it was deployed against Venezuela, entered the Mediterranean to join US forces ready to attack Iran. The United States’ goal is to deprive Iran of all nuclear capabilities, including civilian ones, so that Israel remains the only country in the Middle East with nuclear weapons, and to ensure that Iran, an important member of the BRICS, can no longer play the role of Middle Eastern hub for Russia’s North-South Transport Corridor and China’s New Silk Road. The way Trump presents Iran in his speech (ignoring, among other things, the fact that it was the United States that overthrew the Mosaddegh government in 1953 with a CIA coup and established the dictatorial regime of the Shah) leaves no doubt about his intention to wage a large-scale war against Iran:
“For decades, the policy of the United States has been to never allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons. Since they took control of that proud nation 47 years ago, the regime and its bloody representatives have spread nothing but terrorism, death and hatred. These are terrible people. They have already developed missiles capable of threatening Europe and our bases abroad, and they are working on building missiles that will soon reach the United States of America.”
