Geelong and Adelaide will head into the finals in hot form after both registered big wins in their final home and away match of the season.

The Cats kicked 10 consecutive goals at one point before cruising to 57-point victory that gives them a chance of finishing in the top four.

Geelong are currently in fourth place, but will need West Coast to beat Hawthorn in the final game of the season on Sunday night to secure the double chance.

Bailey Smith continued his outstanding season wit a ridiculous 40 touches and three goals, while Shaun Mannagh also kicked three to go with his 33 disposals.

Superstar Jeremy Cameron made his return from a shoulder injury, starting at half-back before pushing forward in the second half. He failed to kick a goal, but looked untroubled by the arm and shoulder injuries that have hampered his campaign.

Shannon Neale kicked four, while Jay Polkinghorne and Ollie Henry booted two apiece in the big win. Bu there was an injury concern for Jack Henry, who was forced off in the second term with an ankle issue.

Richmond were competitive early, and when Seth Campell kicked their third goal they led 12 minutes into the opening term.

But the Cats closed out the term with four goals, capped by an excellent set shot from Dangerfield at the end of the quarter, and they were out to a 20-point lead.

Geelong killed off the game with a six-goal run through the second term, broken by Tom Lynch’s first goal on the half-time siren. The Cats led by 49 points at the main break.

The Cats amassed 22 inside-50s in the third quarter, but the Tigers restricted the damage and it was three goals apiece for the term.

There would be no blowout, and a four-goal burst from the Tigers in the last quarter brought the margin back to 34 points.

Geelong quickly snuffed out the unlikely rally from the next centre bounce and Dangerfield’s third goal followed.

Lynch kicked three goals for the Tigers and midfielder Tim Taranto had 36 disposals, with a game-high 10 clearances.

The Tigers have only won three games this season and are second-last. They will claim the wooden spoon if bottom side Essendon upset Port Adelaide on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Adelaide had an equally dominant victory over the Giants, riding a nine-goal first quarter on their way to a 56-point win that guarantees a top-six finish and home elimination final.

The Giants actually did well to close to within 16 points midway through the third term, but were never really in the contest.

During the last quarter, the Crows fans broke out into a Mexican wave as they lapped up the performance.

Taylor Walker, who announced he will retire at the end of the season, delighted the fans with a six-goal haul.

But it was Izak Rankine who again was the star of the show with 35 touches and four goals to continue his hot finish to the season.

Fellow forwards Riley Thilthorpe, Darcy Fogarty and Ben Keays also got in on the act with three apiece.
