A man has been accused of killing his own father in what police have described as a “confronting” situation in Sydney’s west.
The 30-year-old man is alleged to have stabbed his 58-year-old father multiple times at a residence in Clouta Pl, Emu Plains, about 6.45pm on Thursday.
The father died at the scene, despite the best efforts from paramedics.

Detective Acting Superintendent Michael Cantrell said police received numerous reports in relation to the alleged incident.
“It was a very confronting scene,” he said.
“The Easter long weekend is supposed to be a time for families to come together.
“For someone’s family to start off the long weekend in such tragic circumstances is very tough.”

“Police did a fantastic job arresting the offender at the scene,” Cantrell said.
He alleged both men are known to police and had a history of domestic violence, but added it had been “a number of years” since the last incident.
The son is expected to appear before court on Friday.
