One teenager is in custody and “a number” of other people are on the run after fleeing from a car crash in western Sydney.

A Porsche Cayenne was being chased by police when it crashed through a fence, coming to rest on a putting green, at Woodville Gold Club on Monday night.

The pursuit had started when police noticed the Porsche driving suspiciously on Mona St in South Granville about 9.45pm.

Officers followed the SUV for several kilometres before it crashed into the golf course where “a number of occupants” ran away from the vehicle, police said.

A police helicopter, dog squad and highway patrol were called in to search for them.

A 17-year-old boy found in nearby bushland was arrested.

He was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he is assisting with police inquiries.

Officers allegedly found a firearm in the Porsche, which police also allege had “cloned” number plates.

Both the firearm and vehicle will undergo forensic examination as part of ongoing investigations.
