A man has been hospitalised after a public shooting in Sydney’s west.

Police were called to a hospital in western Sydney about 11.10pm on Tuesday after a 33-year-old man arrived with a gunshot wound to his stomach.

About 11.50pm, officers arrived at a home on Mavis St, Greystanes, where police allege a shot was fired.

Forensics investigators were speaking to neighbours and scouring through the home and its front yard.

The man remains in hospital under police guard.
