A man will face court accused of making an online threat to a federal parliamentarian.
The 45-year-old was arrested as police executed search warrants at properties in Hume, ACT, and Queanbeyan, NSW, on Tuesday.
It came after the Australian Federal Police National Security Investigations unit was alerted to an alleged “menacing and offensive post targeted at a federal parliamentarian on social media” in February.

AFP said officers seized a mobile phone, laptop and weapons including an extendable baton, a taser and pepper spray from the properties on Tuesday.
The man was charged with one count each of possessing a prohibited weapon and of using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.
The AFP said investigations remain “ongoing and further charges have not been ruled out”.
The accused man was granted bail and is expected to appear at ACT Magistrates Court on May 26.
