Comedian Kate Langbroek says Robert Irwin’s Logie Awards jabs at Karl Stefanovic and Dave Hughes were a “bit s***”.
Hosting Australian television’s night of nights on Sunday, Irwin, 22, took aim at the high-profile stars, who were not in attendance.
The conservationist joked that former morning TV host Stefanovic had not RSVP’d but that they had saved him a seat “to the right, the far right”.

Irwin also quipped that a reboot of Hughes’ old comedy panel show was in the works and that it would be called “No, Seriously Hughesy, We Have A Problem”.
Speaking on the Fifi, Fev and Nick show, Langbroek said the jibes were unnecessary and argued people wanted to be entertained, not told how to think.
“I just went ... what are you doing? Karl Stefanovic has worked in this business, in television for, I don’t know, 30 years, and suddenly whatever he’s done, he’s interviewed someone you don’t like or whatever,” she said.
“I’m just like ... suddenly there’s a pile-on.
“And then of course they had a slight jab at Hughesy.
“It’s like they’re just a pack of like animals who the second where they sense the power shift they’re like ‘oh let’s get stuck in’ and I’m just like ‘don’t do that, don’t be like that’.”

“All those years they really enjoyed his antics, and Karl turns up drunk and he talks to everyone — suddenly it’s like ‘oh no, we can’t like Karl’, and I’m just like ‘you pitiful, pitiful mind virus idiots’,” she said.
She rounded out her spray by saying the jokes did not seem like Irwin’s style.
“I just found it a bit s*** to be honest,” she said.

“I’ve been training for this night and I am sore,” he said before the gig, where he was praised for his confidence, charm and ability to handle the occasion.
Stefanovic said he did not tune in but was unfussed by the dig.
“Can’t be cranky with Robert Irwin. It would be like being cranky with Bambi,” he said.
Hughes — who has used his platform to fire up over Australian politics and missed the Logies for a Liberal Party event — said being roasted by Irwin made him “proud”.
“I knew I’d get a mention at the Logies last night and I didn’t have to be there, so that was a win,” he said.
