Far-Right Governments in Latin America have made a comeback with the recent elections in Chile where a far-right fascist and Zionist supporter, José Antonio Kast won with 58% of the vote over Communist Party candidate Jeannette Jara, who received 41% of the vote. Kast’s family has German roots where his father, Michael Martin Kast was a literal Nazi officer in the Wehrmacht of Germany who escaped the postwar denazification process and arrived in Chile with falsified papers, in an interesting twist, Kast has based his election campaign with an anti-immigrant agenda. His oldest brother, Miguel Kast was a ‘Chicago Boy’ who served as Minister of Labor and President of the Central Bank under the military government of General Augusto Pinochet.

President-elect Kast commented about what he thought about Chilen Dictator Augusto Pinochet by La Tercera in 2017, and he said that

“I defended his government, but I never even had a coffee with him. You don’t have to be very imaginative to think that if he were alive, he would vote for me. Now, if I had met with him, we would have had a cup of tea at La Moneda”.

This tells you what kind of people have been elected to lead governments in Latin America including far-right fascist and hardcore Zionists in El Salvador with Nayib Bukele, Ecuador’s Daniel Noboa who was born in Miami, Florida which is home to the anti-Castro and anti-Communist far-right Cuban-Americans and Argentina’s ‘The Madman’ Javier Milei.  In Honduras, the Trump regime has interfered in the elections to get their man in office who is another right-wing fascist by the name of Nasry Asfura to turn Honduras once again, into a US client-state and remain an indirect colonial possession.

The recent elections in Honduras has Washington’s fingerprints all over it. The Associated Press (AP) led with a headline mentioning US pressure on the elections, ‘Honduras starts special count of final votes in its presidential election after pressure from the US’ said that

“So far, electoral authorities had counted 99.80% of the ballots, but the election is marked by razor thin margins and accusations of a number of regularities, which have prompted the special count” which has been monitored by the “presence of national and international observers.”

The US has influenced the elections by threatening Honduras with “consequences”:

The process had been paralyzed due to disputes over the final count, fueling wider political uncertainty and U.S. demands to wrap up vote tallies. On Wednesday night, the U.S. State Department warned Honduran electoral authorities to “immediately” finalize results and that any calls to disrupt the process would “be met with consequences.”

“The voices of 3.4 million Hondurans must be respected and upheld,” the department said on X

The candidates are as follows with Trump’s pick, Nasry Asfura of the conservative National Party who led with a thin margin over his rivals, Salvador Nasralla who is also from the conservative Liberal Party and Rixi Moncada who ran under LIBRE (Liberty and Re-foundation party) which is the current party in power was in third place.  So how much is the US involved in interfering with Honduras elections?

U.S. President Donald Trump backed Asfura in the lead up to the election, fueling accusations of election intervention by his opponents, namely Castro.  For Castro, the election was a political reckoning — she was elected in 2021 on a promise to reduce violence and root out corruption in Honduras. Castro, is the wife of former President Manuel “Mel” Zelaya, who was removed from power in a 2009 coup

The AP also said that Castro’s policies are the main cause of why her party was in third place:

She was among a group of progressive leaders in Latin American elected on a hopeful message of change but are now being cast out after failing to deliver on their vision.

“LIBRE paid the price of finally getting to the presidency, to the driving seat and not being able to deliver what it promised,” said Tiziano Breda, a senior analyst for Latin America and Caribbean at Armed Conflict Location & Event Data”

However, Nicaragua-based John Perry who is part of the Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition explains clearly what happened during Castro’s leadership and what she was up against which the AP failed to mention:

Castro’s government only partly fulfilled its progressive aims, not least because of the continuing power wielded by Honduras’s often corrupt elite, a judicial and security system still strongly subject to US influence, and social media campaigns which often originated in Washington. Opinion polls showed that Castro’s chosen successor as Libre Party candidate, Rixi Moncada, would be in a close race with the right-wing candidates of the two traditional parties, the Liberals’ Salvador Nasralla and the National Party’s Nasry Asfura. Trump favored Asfura, effectively the successor to Juan Orlando Hernández, as the candidate most attuned to his policies.

The fact that the November 30 election took place at the height of the US military build-up in the Caribbean was itself a crucial ingredient in determining the outcome. Both right-wing candidates were able to warn Hondurans that a vote for Libre would be an invitation to the US military to turn its guns on them. Trump emboldened them by asking on Truth Social, “Will Maduro and his Narco-terrorists take over another country like they have taken over Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela?”

In the final moments of the vote count, it was reported that

“With 99.2 percent of the votes tallied, conservative candidate Nasry Asfura, a 67-year-old businessman backed by US President Donald Trump, held a narrow lead over fellow conservative Salvador Nasralla, a 72-year-old TV star” which has “caused tensions among Hondurans, and the sluggish count has been accompanied by claims of irregularities and voter fraud.”

However, rising tensions have been apparent since large scale demonstrations by supporters of the Libre party on allegations of “fraud” in the vote counting process:

On the eve of the election, Trump in a surprise move pardoned former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernandez, a member of Asfura’s party who was serving a 45-year prison sentence in the United States for drug trafficking.  Extradited by Honduras to face justice in the United States, Hernandez insists he had been set up by the previous administration of President Joe Biden because of his conservative policies.

The pardon was widely seen as contradicting Trump’s crackdown on alleged drug traffickers in Latin America

Trump’s interference in the elections has been evident as he threatened Honduran officials with “hell to pay” if Asfura was not elected.

The elections have been manipulated to the point where even the center-right candidate, Salvador Nasralla declared that “there had been fraud in the vote tallying following what he said were repeated system crashes.” On an X post, Nasralla wrote the following:

This morning, Monday, December 8, 2025, when the system crashed at the National Electoral Council @CneHonduras, the tally sheets from the departments of Cortés and Atlántida were being entered.  This evening at 7:20 PM, the system crashed again as the tally sheets from Cortés and Atlántida were being entered. This is fraud. They are manipulating the system. The National Party @PNH_oficial received 20% fewer real votes nationwide than the Liberal Party@PLHonduras. This is theft. Our people working on contingency plans right now feel powerless

So, Who is Nasry Asfura?

Asfura, the leader of the conservative National Party of Honduras (PNH) the 67-year-old former mayor of Tegucigalpa has been endorsed by Trump and the far-right lunatic of Argentina, Javier Milei.  Asfura is of Arab descent whose parents were Palestinian Christians.  For some reason, those who are born in Central or South America with parents who are Arab-descend seem to be supportive of Israel just like El Salvador’s President, Nayib Bukele, but anyway, Asfura is from the same party as Juan Orlando Hernandez, the convicted drug dealer who moved the Honduran Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.  It’s worth mentioning that Asfura supported the far-right fascist José Antonio Kast’s presidential bid during Chile’s recent elections.

Asfura has promised to align Honduras with the US instead of China, which was a preferred trading partner to the former president, Iris Xiomara Castro de Zelaya.

The Trump regime is trying to steer Latin America into the far-right Neo-liberalism wave by supporting Asfura in the Honduras elections, but the Honduran people know that the contested elections marred with corruption and external interference from the Trump regime is not a legit outcome they were hoping for. What happens next? Time will tell.

The ghost of Pinochet throughout Latin America with a new far-right fascist governments supported by the West, namely the US and Israel haunt ordinary people throughout the region, but there will be a revolution against these fascist governments sooner or later.  That is a certainty given the fact that the Trump Regime is on the march to start another unwinnable war on Venezuela and possibly Colombia.  This will guarantee a Latin American revolution that the US, Israel, NATO and the current fascist governments in power will not be able to contain nor defeat. It’s just a matter of time.
