There’s no doubt about it, this year has been Hilary Duff’s year, bringing back the early 2000s nostalgia for millions across the globe and looking good while doing it too.

The singer stepped out in Los Angeles for An Evening With Hilary Duff at the Grammy Museum, where she performed a stripped-back set and spoke about her creative process and career while promoting her latest album, luck… or something.

Naturally, the hair deserved its own moment.

Hilary’s hair had that shiny, effortless combination of polished and undone.

The soft waves, plenty of shine and texture looked intentionally imperfect rather than painstakingly styled.

The person behind the look was celebrity hairstylist Barb Thompson, who used Japanese haircare brand HONEYQUE to prep and finish Hilary’s hair.

Thompson revealed that she likes to begin every hairstyle with freshly washed hair because it gives her a clean foundation to work from. For Duff’s Grammy Museum appearance, she started with HONEYQUE Deep Repair Shampoo before following with the HONEYQUE Deep Repair Treatment.

The focus was on creating a smooth, hydrated base before styling.
