Returning legends, classic albums and a healthy dose of Aussie anthems will be the order of the day when Australia’s biggest travelling rock festival returns for one massive weekend in December.

Promoters Destroy All Lines on Tuesday morning revealed the line-up for this year’s Good Things festival, which will hit Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane over the first weekend of summer.

Limp Bizkit, last in Australia as part of Good Things in 2023, continue their global resurgence with their first down under headlining slots in 25 years. The Floridian rap-metal titans will close out a huge year having topped the bill at some of the world’s biggest rock festivals including the UK’S Download, Belgium’s Graspop and France’s Hellfest.

Also returning, after a spot on the 2019 bill, are Canadian pop punk icons Simple Plan, almost a quarter of a century on from their much-loved debut No Pads, No Helmets … Just Balls. The All-American Rejects, meanwhile, will make good on their promise to return after last year’s shows were cancelled at the last minute following the sudden death of a family member.

Elsewhere, industrial legends and one-time Big Day Out headliners Ministry will farewell their Australian fans with their final performances on these shores. The Good Things run will be their first visit in almost 12 years.

Punk fans will be well served by the legendary Bad Religion - who return to celebrate their 45th (+1) anniversary - and Millencolin, who will perform their classic album Pennybridge Pioneers in full. The Swedes have long been local favourites, with Australian fans giving the band their first gold (and ultimately platinum) certifications on its initial release in 2000.

Also getting the full album treatment are Canadian hardcore outfit Alexisonfire, who will treat fans to a 20th anniversary performance of 2006’s Crisis.

Sydney’s Polaris headline the Australian contingent, with able support from Grinspoon. All eyes will be on Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson in the coming months after he was forced to cancel the remainder of his solo tour at the weekend after injuring his spine during a show. Choirboys will fill the now-traditional Aussie pub rock slot, following in the footsteps of Boom Crash Opera, Dragon and James Reyne, while at the other end of the career spectrum international sensations Speed will play their first shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in more than 12 months.
