A huge industrial fire is burning in Adelaide’s northwest, with roads blocked off and a smoke warning in place for nearby residents.

The blaze appears to have started in a factory or warehouse on the corner of Regency Rd and South Rd in Croydon Park.

A large emergency response is underway as fire crews work to get the blaze under control.

Smoke can be seen billowing high into the air, with the Metropolitan Fire Service issuing a warning about smoke exposure.

“Smoke from a structure fire is moving in a south westerly direction,” it said.

“You should stay informed and be aware of the health impacts of smoke on yourself and others.”

A Dangerous Area declaration has been announced by police for the area bound by the North-South Motorway Slip Rd, Regency Rd, Hudson Ave and Standard Ave.

Members of the public must remain outside this area.

The Regency Rd off-road for northbound traffic on the North South Mwy is closed.
