Essendon star Nate Caddy has been taken to hospital after suffering a worrying health scare during Sunday’s clash against GWS Giants.
Caddy took himself off during the first quarter and appeared in discomfort with a chest problem.
The 21-year-old could be seen on the bench on all fours in some distress.

He then went down to the rooms and was ruled out for the remainder of the match with the club saying it was “illness”.
Essendon football boss Daniel McPherson was seen engaged in serious conversations with medical staff on the bench while Caddy was assessed in the rooms underneath Marvel Stadium.
“He felt something, clearly, by taking himself off. He looked to be in a little bit of pain when he came to the bench,” Jordan Lewis said on Fox Footy.
More details emerged during the half-time break.
“We understand he has an elevated heart rate and has been sent to hospital for further assessment,” Sarah Jones said on Fox Footy.
“So, some concern around that — we hope that Nate is doing OK.”
Caddy recently re-signed with the club until the end of 2031 in a massive boost for the battling Bombers.
The Giants also had their own injury issues with skipper Toby Greene suffering a quad injury in the third term.
More to come ...
