A woman has died after being struck by a car in a carpark in Melbourne’s southeast.

The 88-year-old was hit in a carpark near a strip of shops on Paternoster Lne in Berwick about 11.30am on Saturday.

She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died.

The male driver stopped at the scene and was interviewed by police.

“Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances of the collision,” Victoria Police said.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any dashcam or CCTV footage has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
