The RSPCA has launched an investigation after disturbing video emerged appearing to show an Adelaide dog groomer slapping a dog in his care.
The footage, obtained by 7NEWS, shows the groomer appearing to slap a four-year-old maltese-shitzu called Bob across the head.

The video was taken by a concerned neighbour and shared with Bob’s owner.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at Elizabeth, but on Friday became the subject of a social media post that has been widely shared.
According to Bob’s owner, the groomer left without even waiting for payment after being confronted about the incident.

The groomer’s business page on Facebook has since been deleted.
When contacted by 7NEWS, the groomer said there are two sides to the story and he will be engaging a lawyer before making any further comment.
