The manager of Scott Pendlebury says no decision will be made on his future until the end of the season.

Pendlebury is keen to play on in 2027, though there are different views within the Collingwood setup as to whether he is worthy of a list spot.

The situation remains very delicate, given the iconic status Pendlebury boasts within and outside the club.

Essendon made a play for the left-footer, though it was knocked back, while Gold Coast is understood to have expressed interest in the two-time premiership player joining as a free agent.

Speaking to 7NEWS and SEN on Friday, player agent Anthony Panozzo from Hemisphere Management Group said a call on the veteran’s next move has been delayed until after Collingwood’s last game.

“A decision on Scott’s future will be made post season,” Panozzo said.

This confirms SEN’s reports last Tuesday, which indicated Pendlebury has decided to go again.

If the champion was weighing up retirement, there would be a chance he would declare it before the end of Collingwood’s campaign.

Panozzo’s quote leaves the door ajar for Pendlebury to make a shock move at the end of the season.

As an unrestricted free agent, he’s entitled to play for whichever team he pleases.

Collingwood coach Craig McRae and footy boss Charlie Gardiner have been in regular dialogue with Pendlebury in recent weeks.

Adelaide has also considered whether the 38-year-old would be a suitable assistant coaching option for 2027.
