A legally blind Australian brewer has turned his biggest challenge into sweet success.

Jacob Viel, 38, has been refining his craft for more than a decade and now Blind Boy Brewing boasts 16 types of beer.

All are made at his Salisbury site in Brisbane.

The master craftsman has adapted his brewing techniques and equipment to do what he loves. 

That includes using colour coding, talking devices and computer software.

After struggling to find employment because of his condition, Viel wants to have the most accessible brand.

Even his cans have braille on them.

“I guess it’s been a long journey,” he told 7NEWS.

His brew bar is open every Friday and Saturday from 2pm until 7pm, and there is live music and a food truck.

“It’s probably one of the smallest breweries in Australia, but it’s making the biggest impact,” he said.
