After a long-winded teaser campaign, Suzuki Australia has finally revealed the special-edition Jimny Rhino, bringing unique aesthetics and a generous loot bag for all Rhino buyers.

Priced from $44,990 before on-road costs – $7500 more than the regular flagship Jimny XL auto – this new limited-production model is based on the five-door Jimny XL and will be limited to just 250 units. Deliveries are slated to commence on July 1, 2026.

It brings the Rhino name to Australia for the first time, which has previously appeared on more rugged-looking special editions of the Jimny overseas.

Much like those overseas editions, the new Australian-delivered Jimny Rhino brings only cosmetic upgrades and unique badging, with no mechanical changes or enhancements under the skin. It does, however, come with a unique 'Rhino Go Pack' containing a raft of Rhino-branded merchandise.

Headlining the Jimny Rhino is its Kinetic Yellow paint finish, a bold colour previously exclusive to the three-door model outside of Queensland – where Suzuki is handled by a separate distributor – paired with a black roof. This is the only colour available for the Rhino.

This is punctuated by unique decals on either side of the car, featuring a 'charging rhino motif' and twin stripes said to "evoke both the silhouette of a winding mountain road and the spirit of adventure". At the rear of each decal is 'サイ' – the word for 'rhino' in Japanese katakana script.

Though the five-door Jimny XL is built in India, unlike the three-door model, Suzuki says this is a nod to the Jimny's "proud Japanese heritage". Other exterior tweaks include satin silver side skirt and front bumper garnishes, a "heritage" front grille, and Suzuki-branded front and rear mud flaps.

There's also a new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheel design, which features a "Shuriken-inspired design that conveys a sense of movement even when the car is standing still". Of course, a new Rhino badge sits proudly on the car's tailgate.

Opening the door of the Jimny Rhino reveals "diffused LED lighting that illuminates the ground to facilitate ingress", while the interior features a handful of cosmetic tweaks in keeping with the exterior theme.

The interior door handles and passenger-side grab handle are wrapped in black leather, accented by leather stitching and a 'laser-etched' Rhino logo. There are also satin silver accents around the air vents and the automatic gear selector surround, while manual models get a retro-design shifter knob.

Kinetic Yellow is one of the eight colours to feature in the Rhino's customisable ambient lighting palette. This is used for footwell illumination, where there are now also unique rubber floor mats with the Jimny logo.

Additional Rhino badging is seen on the dashboard, while Suzuki has treated this Jimny to an upgraded four-speaker Pioneer sound system.

A drawcard for this new special-edition Jimny is Suzuki's aptly named 'Rhino Go Pack'. All Rhino buyers will receive a bundle of Jimny Rhino merchandise with their purchase, all chosen to fit in nicely with the Jimny's adventure-ready status.

Rhino Go Pack equipment highlights:

  • Rhino-branded merchandise:
  • Bucket hat with Rhino Special Edition logo in Kinetic Yellow embroidery
  • Portable lantern with Rhino Special Edition logo in Kinetic Yellow
  • Drink bottle with Rhino Special Edition logo
  • Portable Bluetooth speaker with Rhino Special Edition logo
  • 'Rhino Rations' – Koko Black 9-piece Dark Chocolate Pistachio praline box 'presented in a bespoke Rhino Special Edition branded sleeve'

As mentioned, the Rhino brings no mechanical changes to the Jimny XL. That means it's powered by a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 75kW of power and 130Nm of torque.

It'll be available with a choice of four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmissions, both paired with a part-time four-wheel drive system and selectable low-range gearing. A full-size spare wheel is still mounted externally on the tailgate.

Inside, it features a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cloth seat upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel as standard. It also gets automatic LED headlights and heated side mirrors.

Orders are now open for the Jimny Rhino across Australia, except in Queensland and the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.
